Since Professor Rivers arrived at the College of Business in 1978, he’s held several leadership positions including associate dean from March, 2000 to July, 2007. He is now back home in the School of Accountancy and he oversees an initiative to re-invigorate the College’s Asian programs in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
Rivers’ teaching interests are management accounting and control systems (masters level), accounting information systems, advanced cost accounting and introductory and intermediate financial accounting.
Every summer since 1998, Rivers teaches at the Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge, Mass.
Rivers earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Kent State University.
