Students often wonder how to access E-Recruiting to look for a job or to sign up for an interview schedule. This guide is designed as a general overview of the CoBA E-Recruiting system.
First off, it’s important to realize that there are TWO E-recruiting accounts for SIUC: the one for University Career Services (over at Woody Hall) and then the College of Business and Administration Account. The crew here at the BPC only takes care of the CoBA E-Recruiting account, so make sure you are on the right E-Recruiting account to begin with.
Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, let’s move on…
- Go to the CoBA eRecruiting website at http://siucba.erecruiting.com.
- Your User ID is the first letter of your first name, first three letters of your last name, and the last four digits of your student ID#. For example: Jack Smith’s (SS#235-87-8691) User ID is ‘jsmi8691′ (All lower-case letters!)
- Your password is siucba (it can be changed when you log in - If you forget what your password it, try ’siucba’ and see if that works. - Once again, all lower-case letters!)
After you log in the first time, the system will ask you a few questions about your demographic information. You only have to go through this screen once and it only takes a few minutes.
Once you are done updating the initial few questions, you can update your profile at any time by selecting Profile then Edit and entering your personal information
One of the more powerful features of E-Recruiting is being able to upload multiple resumes, cover letters, etc, into the system:
- Choose Documents, Upload Documents and upload your resume
- Wait until the Status of your resume changes to Ready (it take 5-10 minutes)
Now, just because you have uploaded a document to your account that doesn’t mean that recruiters can see it when they search for various criteria. The ‘Upload Documents’ are acts primarily as a online file-storage are for your specific E-Recruiting account. In order to make a particular document accessible in the searches that recruiters do, you have to PUBLISH your resume:
- Select Publish Resume and publish your resume (Note: If you do not publish your resume recruiters will not be able to view it)
- You are now ready to search through Jobs & Internships
There ya go! Of course, if you have any issues getting into your account or if you have any questions, feel free to come by or call the BPC anytime for assistance.
