What is the deadline for admission?
While there is no specific deadline for admission, the prospective student must be accepted by both the Graduate School and the School of Accountancy. As such, students are encouraged to have all materials submitted no later than December 10 for the spring semester, May 10 for the summer semester, and August 10 for the fall semester. Students may review other important dates at the Graduate School website.
What specializations can I obtain in the Masters in Accountancy program?
Students can select from 2 specializations (Taxation or Information Systems). Students can review these requirements from the Graduate Catalog (PDF).
What courses are required for the various specializations?
Students may review the list of required and elective courses from the Graduate Catalog (PDF).
When are the courses (both required and elective) offered?
Students may review the list of course offerings at the Course Offering site.
Who can I contact about assistantships and fellowships?
Please contact the Director of the Masters program, Dr. Julie Sobery, at (618) 453-1409, or email her. She maintains a list of assistantships held by current students. Some of these are performed in the School of Accountancy, while others are performed in the College or at other sites in the university.
How do I register for classes?
In order to assure that 1) the student is progressing satisfactorily toward graduation, and 2) the student is receiving proper advisement, he/she is required to obtain a registration form from the Director of the Masters program. The student must obtain a restricted class entry form for all BA prefix courses. The student actually registers for courses at the Graduate School office at Woody Hall on campus.
