Rose Shrestha, a master of accountancy student set to graduate in 2009, has been hired as a tax associate at KPMG in St. Louis.
“I’m thrilled,” said Shrestha, a native of Nepal. “I chose SIU College of Business because of its excellent accounting program and faculty, small faculty to student ratio and diversified student body. I love the personal attention that each student gets from the faculty members.”
Shrestha singled out “Dr. Julia Sobery because she really gives close personal attention both inside and outside the classroom,” she said.
“Rose is a remarkable individual and I know she will be a success at KPMG,” said Julie Sobery, associate professor of accounting.
Shrestha hopes to become a “successful tax consultant and provide businesses with expert tax knowledgebase. With ever changing tax laws and the level of its complexity, companies not only need to keep up with these laws but also understand these laws to make good business decisions,” she said. |
